Xinmin County

Xinmin is a county-level city of Shenyang, covering 3,318km2. It lies in the middle of Liaoning province and on the west of Shenyang, which is 60km away from it. It’s a newly emerged city with advantageous geo-location, convenient transportation, bountiful energies, well-developed communication, and a strong market. Recently, it won the title of the Best City Entrepreneurs, the top 20 most potential small and middle sized city in China, top 200 most charismatic cities in China, and the most attractive city for the transference of private enterprises. It’s also the demonstration district for national-standard agriculture, the pioneer county of food production, and the key county of High Quality Vegetable Producing Base. In addition, it’s considered as the demonstration county of new rural cooperative medical service, the famous county for its eco-environment, the top county for watermelon production, and the demonstration county of “One County, One Industry”. Moreover, it won other honorary titles such as the 2011 top 100 counties for local economy and basic competitiveness, and 2012 top100 the most potential county for investment. It also has passed the assessment of “eco-city” smoothly.

Xinmin has a flat landscape, with most of its lands being the alluvial plain nurtured by Liao River. There are altogether six rivers, namely, Liao River, Liu River, Pu River, Yangximu River, and Xiushui River running across the county. The total number of underground water resource is 547 million m3, and the daily water supply capacity is 100,000 ton. In the district, the forest covers one million acres of land, and there is more than 300 million ton of underground oil and 150 million m3 of natural gas. Xinmin’s convenient transportation system makes it the transportation hub for the west of Shenyang. Shentong and the Liaoning middle ring highway, together with six provincial roads (102, 304, 101, Shenfu, Danxia, Shenhuan) and two railways (Shenha, Gaoxin) run through the county. It’s also in close proximity to Shenyang Xiantao International Airport, Dalian port and Yingkou port. U1 in Shenyang is planned to be extended to Xinmin, with the total length of 51.2km. It’s expected to be put into practice during the 12th five-year plan.
