Based on its natural characteristics, Kangping has divided its lands into three agricultural districts. In the east, the low-lying plain is productive in grain; the sandy saline area lying in the middle of the county is suitable for animal husbandry (livestock farming) and forestry due to its wide coverage of grass and wood. The low hilly area in the west is suitable for the growth of any crops. Its underground mineral water reserve is unparalleled in China, and its quality is also superb. The underground mineral water has 14 micro elements (e.g.strontium, metasillicio acid, and iodine), and volume of strontium per liter can reach 2.54mg~3.20mg, which can be rarely seen both in home and abroad. Therefore, the water is quite beneficial for people’s health.
