March 7, reporter learned on the working conference for Chinese medicine that Shenyang will improve the service quality of health management of Chinese traditional medicine, one item of essential public health services. The target of this service is to provide at least 40% of the senior permanent residents at the age of 65 and above and infants aged from 0 to 36 months with free health management of Chinese traditional medicine in the communities where their households locate.
Zhang Dawei, Deputy Director of Shenyang Bureau of Chinese Traditional Medicine, told the reporter that all basic-level medical service institutions in Shenyang (including medical service centers in communities, health centers in towns and villages) are all equipped with essential TCM diagnosis and treatment facilities. All qualified senior citizens and infants can access free recognition of TCM constitution, guidance in massage and health management of TCM. In the meanwhile, Shenyang will finish the construction of 86 hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine, and 97% community medical service centers, 89% health centers in towns and villages, 80% community medical service stations and 46% health clinics in villages can provide service of Chinese traditional medicine by the end of 2017.Shenyang will also invest 60 million RMB to construct the new branch of Shenyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in other cities.
