A total of 105 sets of fine silverware are on display at Shenyang Palace Museum in Northeast China's Shenyang, Liaoning province, until April 22. Titled, Silver Age - China's Exported Silvers, the exhibition tells the story of China's silver making from a historical perspective, detailing characteristics of the exported artifacts and different styles of East and West. Management of the Shenyang Palace museum said China has a long history of making silverware, which at least dates back to the Warring States Period (475-221 BC). Compared to porcelain exports, however, China's modern export of silverware was relatively unknown to the public until the 1970s. [Photo/Chinanews.com]
