Moment of treaty

November 21, 1993, Shenyang government delegation led by Shenyang mayor Wu Disheng visited Ramat Gan, Israel. During the visit, the delegation met with mayor of Ramat Gan, Zvi Bar, and contacted with the economy and trade department. The two parties are all interested in carrying out friendship relationship and exchanges in science, technology, trade, culture and medicine. The mayors of the two cities also signed the draft for the establishment of sister-city relationship.

Basic information of the city

Ramat Gan is a city in the midwest part of Israel. The total area of the city is 12.214 square kilometers with a population of 150,000. It's one of the largest and the most beautiful major cities of Israel. Transportation network extends in all directions.

Geographical lication

Coordinate of Ramat Gan is 32° 5′ 0″ N, 34° 49′ 0″ E. It locates on the Sharon Plain on the east of Tel Aviv-Jaffa.

Climate

Ramat Gan has typical Mediterranean climate. It rains a lot from October to the next April and rarely rains in summer. Temperature seldom falls bellow 5 °C, normally between 10 °C and 15 °C. Average temperature in summer is 26 °C. But temperature may reach 35 °C during the daytime of summer. Annual average rainfall is 530mm.

History

Ramat Gan is the largest satellite city of Tel Aviv. It was first established in 1924 as the residential area of the Jews. In 1950, it became a city. The main products of this city were oranges and breeding dairy animals. Now its the industrial center and the green area of the towns.

Administrative divisions

Economy

Ramat Gan's economy is dominated by the Diamond Exchange District in the northwest of the city. The main economic activity includes jewelry processing, electronics and computer. Local chocolate, oranges, fabric products, building materials, cigarettes, electrical appliances and furniture are quite famous.

Ramat Gan is where diamond exchange and the research and development center for diamond industries locate. There are 2500 diamond enterprises. It's the capital of Israel diamond and the global diamond center. Israel Diamond Center which locates in Ramat Gan is the largest diamond exchange center of the world.

Culture and education

Ramat Gan is a garden city. One fourth of the city is covered by gardens and green shade. It owns the largest stadium of the country which can hold 50,000 audiences. Many international and domestic sports competitions are held there.

Friendly exchanges

In 1994, national friendship association approved the establishment of Shenyang and Ramat Gan, Israel.

May 13, 2000, vice mayor of Shenyang, Sun Xiangjian, led the delegation to Israel to attend the New Millennium Sister-City Conference held in Ramat Gan, Israel.During the conference, Sun Xiangjian and Zvi Bar, mayor of Ramat Gan, and signed <Agreement on the Friendly Exchange in 2000>.In December 2000, on the invitation of Ramat Gan mayor, Shenyang delegation went to attend the millennium celebration activity held in Ramat Gan.During the visit, Sun Xiangjian, vice mayor of Shenyang, officially signed the agreement for the establishment of sister-city relationship on behalf of Shenyang.

In 2006, Ramat Gan mayor, Zvi Bar, led the delegation to attended the 14th World Productivity Conference held in Shenyang.2011, Shenyang hosted "Israel Ramat Gan---China Shenyang Friendly Day".Zhao Changyi, director of Municipal People's Congress, leader of Shenyang Equipment Manufacturing Development Working Committee, paid a visit to Israel, India and Turkey from March 27 to April 7, 2011. During the visit to Israel, the delegation had a visit to Ramat Gan on its invitation. Zhao Changyi had negotiations with Zvi Bar, mayor of Ramat Gan, on economy, trade, education, science, art and culture.
