The largest industrial robot training base to be built in Northeast China started operations in Anyong Machine Tool Town in Shenyang, Liaoning province, on Nov 9.

The base will provide training and technology services for industrial robotics, numerical control processing machines, intelligent production lines, and 3D printers.

The new facility covers an area of around 20,000 square meters, including media classrooms, training rooms, skills training centers, industrial robot mechatronics disassembly stations, intelligent manufacturing production lines, a five-axis machining processing center, 3D printers, and other teaching facilities.

It also offers six training courses and four types of simulation software for the programming and operation of industrial robots, intelligent production lines, and for conducting operations and maintenance.

In addition, experts and scholars in the field of numerical control machine tools are expected to frequently teach courses and deliver talks at the training base.

Anyong Machine Tool Town in Shenyang, home of the training base, is an important industrial project set up by Liaoning Provincial Reform and Development Commission in May.

The town covers 2.8 square kilometers and has received total investment of 15 billion yuan. The industrial project is not expected to be finished until 2025.

It is hoped that the town will eventually become an industry cluster, housing 300 intelligent manufacturing enterprises and 60,000 permanent residents.

Already, 135 businesses involved in producing machine tools and parts are based in the town.
