Global Chinese cuisine chefs showcase skills in Shenyang

A four-day Chinese cooking competition designed to promote Chinese cuisine and strengthen cooking skill exchanges was unveiled in Shenyang, capital city of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, Nov 21.

The Chinese Cuisine World Championships was initiated and sponsored by China Cuisine Association. It is the largest and the most influential Chinese cuisine competition in the world; and it has been successfully held for three consecutive years.

This year is the first time the competition will be held in Northeast China.

Over the next four days, 21 referees from home and abroad will assess around 2,000 Chinese dishes cooked by 200 chefs from around the world and select the best dishes in 240 categories.

Gems of Chinese cuisine, including Liu Jingxian, master of Liaoning cuisine, Chen Jinzhang, master of Henan cuisine and Dong Huixing, master of Fujian cuisine, were invited to attend the competition.

Also, top chefs carrying on the traditional skills of regional Chinese cuisines showcased their cooking skills at the opening ceremony for the Chinese food cooking competition held on Nov 21.
