On the first day of 2019, "Chuan Yi Mo Xie--Exhibition of Transcriptions of Chinese Ancient Classic Paintings" was held at Liaoning Provincial Museum.

35 hand scrolls are shown in this exhibition. Original copies and relevant transcriptions of paintings of Song and Ming Dynasty are shown at the same time. The viewers will be able to feel the charm of the classic paintings while having a profound acknowledge about aesthetic appreciation of the classic paintings and unique understanding about traditional Chinese painting techniques.

"Chuan Yi Mo Xie", which refers to facsimiling paintings is one of the "six techniques" mentioned in Six Principles of Chinese Painting written by Xie He, a painter of the Southern Dynasties. Ancient people attach importance to the facsimiling and collection of painting and calligraphy. Facsimiling of ancient painting and calligraphy works was first carried out in the 1950s at Liaoning Provincial Museum. It cooperated with Rongbaozhai and Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. Professional painters specified in traditional painting are invited to facsimile the classic ancient paintings and preserved a batch of precious transcriptions for the museum. The 35 paintings shown in this exhibition include 4 paintings of Song Dynasty, 1 painting of Ming Dynasty and 30 pieces of paintings facsimiled by modern painters. National treasure the Painting of Lady of Guoguo Spring Outing Facsimiled by Tianshui (Zhao Ji) of Song Dynasty is shown on this exhibition. The value of this master piece lies not only the superb skills and the vivid description of the authentic historical figures, scenes and customs, but also in the reflection of the style and features of a great era of art from a peculiar angle.

It's learned that the exhibition lasts till March.
